Abstract

These Regulations made by the Minister for Infrastructure Development under the Shipping Act 1998, concern carriage of dangerous goods by any commercial ship undertakes a voyage: (a) to Solomon Islands from any place outside of Solomon Islands jurisdiction; and (b) from a Solomon Islands port to any place outside of Solomon Islands jurisdiction. The Regulations define responsibilities of masters of a ship; require masters to comply with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) of IMO and other standards; prescribe rules for the carriage of dangerous goods.
