The Department of Agriculture may authorise preservation mixtures for marketing in their region of origin provided those mixtures fulfil the requirements laid down in Regulation 6 in the case of directly harvested preservation mixtures or the requirements in Regulation 7 in the case of crop-grown preservation mixtures. Regulation 8 lays down the procedural requirements. These regulations also provide for quantitative restrictions (Regulation 9) and their implementation (Regulation 10), sealing of packages and containers (Regulation 11), labelling (Regulation 12), monitoring (Regulation 13), reporting to the EU Commission (Regulation 14) and notification of the recognised organisations of plant genetic resources (Regulation 15).
