Abstract These Regulations lay down rules regarding the application for and grant of exploration license by the Seabed Minerals Authority; obligations relating to the conduct of exploration under license; standards and guidelines; review and modification of work plan; monitoring, inspections, and enforcement; and obligations following expiration, surrender or termination of licence. Schedule 3 determines the purpose and content of environmental management programme which establishes a proposed programme of work for environmental baseline studies, environmental assessment, and the management of potential environmental impacts of exploration activities on the marine environment.
