Abstract

These Rules, consisting of 13 Sections, are enacted in accordance with the Fisheries Act, aiming to manage the operation order of squid jigging vessels and directed fishery catches carrying vessels in the waters of the South-West Atlantic and conserve aquatic resources. Squid jigging vessels and catches carrying vessels from Taiwan to the waters of the South-West Atlantic Ocean shall obtain a certificate of operation before engage in such operation. No squid jigging gear shall be carried by a fishing vessel that fails to obtain a certificate of operation. The Rules further provide for the prohibited fishing areas, the requirements to be met for squid jigging vessels, catch carrying vessels and crew thereof, etc.
