These Regulations enter into force 6 months after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
Abstract

The purpose of these Regulations is to reduce the risk of contamination of drinking-water sources by requiring regional councils to consider the effects of certain activities on drinking-water sources such as granting water permits for activities that may occur upstream of an abstraction point.
