The Regulations concern: offences and penalties for any person who: exports and imports mercury, mercury compounds and mixtures in violation of the provision of the European Regulation; imports mercury for use in artisanal and small-scale gold mining and related processing for gold extraction; exports, imports and produces products with added mercury; uses mercury in production processes, and proceeds to temporary storage of mercury and mercury products, in violation of the provision of the European Regulation; produces and makes available on the market products with added mercury, not produced or processed before January 1, 2018.
