Abstract

These Regulations, issued in pursuance to article 4 (2) (b) and (c) of the Chemical Substances Law no. 119 of 2020, provide for harmonising Cyprus Legislation with the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures, as amended by the Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/521. The Regulations concern: offences and penalties for producers, downstream users and any person who manufactures, distributes and places on the market a chemical substance, a mixture which does not comply with the provisions of the European Regulation; violations and imposition of administrative fines.
