It also ensures the protection of the public, the welfare of animals and the conservation of wildlife. It is organised in 5 Parts and 7 Schedules. Part II concerns the conditions for the capture and for importing an animal into Québec, Part III lays down regulation on keeping animals in captivity, establishing different conditions for mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Part IV contains general dispositions on animals in captivity related to species reintroduction regime, selling rights, and rules to be respected during killing or euthanasia of a captive animal.
