Abstract This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Croatian Law on animal protection, prohibits on the territory of the Republic of Croatia the import of hides and skins of young seals of certain seal species listed in the Annex to this publication, for commercial purposes. This Regulation applies to products not obtained by the traditional Inuit method of hunting. This text contains provisions that are in accordance with the Council Directive 83/129/EEC of 28 March 1983 concerning the importation into Member States of skins of certain seal pups and products derived therefrom.
