Abstract This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, which is composed of 11 articles and two Annexes, lays down the zootechnical standards applicable to breeding of bees in the Republic of Slovenia, conditions on issuance of the certificate for bees, conditions on entry of bees in the studbook of the origin, and the form and content of the source book of bee. In particular, breeding material for bees must meet requirements of regulations governing: conditions on the recognition of organizations of breeders which maintain or establish a studbook of the origin of beekeeping; conditions on breeding of queen bees and regulate trade in bee genetic material; marking of apiaries; conditions on beekeeping policy and program projections of nectar secretion.
