Abstract This Directive, as in accordance with the provisions of article 64 of the Serbian Veterinary Law (published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia 91/2005, and amended in Gazettes 30/2010 and 93/2012), here determines the procedural rules and manner of work of veterinary inspectors, designated for effective application of measures regarding the possible declaring of epidemic of pandemic H1N1 flu (with larger epidemiological importance) on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, here in particular for prevention and monitoring measures against the occurrence of infectious animal diseases, mostly in swine/pig species. In order to protect the health of animals and humans from diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans and vice versa, due to the identified risk of spreading pandemic influenza A (H1N1), eleven (11) different measures shall be taken, as listed in the text.
