Abstract

This Regulation determines the volume of genetic reserves; and defines the method and necessary procedures aimed at securing and maintaining such reserves. The genetic resources of domestic animals includes all species, breeds and lines of domestic animals that are essential for the production of animal products, as well as species and breeds of domestic animals that find other (appropriate) application in agricultural production. Reserves of seminal doses (semen of male individuals) that ensure reproduction and insemination of females in emergency cases should represent an integral part of the genetic reserves and should be able to meet the needs for insemination of at least two successive generations of female individuals of every species/race.
