Abstract This Regulation defines the method of testing of articles and substances (in their final state) that shall or can come into contact with food; this Regulation further sets out the methodology for preparing samples for related tests and performance of passage or substance migration measurements. These rules are in accordance with the provisions of the Council Directive 85/572/EEC of 19 December 1985 laying down the list of simulants to be used for testing migration of constituents of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, and several other documents as listed in the article 1.
