Abstract This Regulation sets forth principles and procedures for defining and registration of livestock facilities, and defining and registration and monitoring of bovines in these facilities, to enable more efficient controlling of livestock movements and animal diseases. It is based on Law No. 3285, Animal Health and Enforcement Force, and Law No. 4631, Animal Improvement Act. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is authorized to define and register bovines, issue necessary movement passes, and registration of animal facilities. A central unit within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sets up a computerised database for monitoring animal movements, enable information flow among local units and monitor the activities of local units. The local units define and register bovines, register animal facilities, prepare and issue animal passes, supervise and inspect facilities.
