Abstract The Regulation, based on the provisions of the Croatian Law on nature protection, prescribes measures for protection, preservation, improvement and use and determines the management zones of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, including measures for the protection and preservation of the unique universal value of the UNESCO World Heritage. The management of the National Park shall be carried out on the basis of the Plitvice Lakes National Park Management Plan. In order to preserve natural values and the required level of management and use, the area of the National Park is divided into management zones and subzones as listed in article 5.
