Abstract This Regulation, as in accordance with the provisions of the Montenegrin Water Law, prescribes the manner and deadlines for determining the status of groundwater, manner of monitoring the chemical and quantitative status of groundwater and further sets necessary measures which will be implemented to improve the effective status of groundwater present on the national territory (including water for human consumption). In terms of this text, the groundwater quality standard is the environmental quality standard expressed as the concentration of a particular pollutant, a group of pollutants or groundwater pollution indicators, which should not be exceeded in order to protected human health and the environment in general.
