Abstract

This Regulation, based on the provisions of the national Law on packaging management and packaging waste, prescribes the conditions for long-lasting packaging and indicates the types of packaging which are considered as long-life (boxes/containers for different items that are largely used and distributed, see article 3 for full list). The conditions under which certain items are classified as packaging with a long life are: to be proven to serve as a product for permanent use; that average service life should be at least five years; that usually gets discarded together with goods that are in such packaging, when its use ends.
