This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

The objectives of the provisions of this Regulation, in accordance with the general principles of international food standards, is to: (a) provide the basis for ensuring a high level of protection of human life and health, animal health and welfare, environment and consumer interests in relation to genetically modified food and feed, whilst ensuring the effective functioning of the internal market; (b) lay down the procedures for the authorization and supervision of genetically modified food and feed; and (c) lay down provisions for the labelling of genetically modified food and feed on the Croatian territory.

Commission Regulation (EC) No. 641/2004 on detailed rules for the implementation of Regulation (EC) No. 1829/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the application for the authorisation of new genetically modified food and feed, the notification of existing products and adventitious or technically unavoidable presence of genetically modified material which has benefited from a favourable risk evaluation.
