This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Regulation prescribes the methods and conditions for use, implementation of necessary traceability and labelling of genetically modified food and feed. Genetically modified food includes: genetically modified organisms intended for use in food; foods containing or consisting of genetically modified organisms; food produced from genetically modified organisms or containing ingredients produced from genetically modified organisms. Genetically modified animal feed includes: genetically modified organisms for use as animal feed; feedingstuffs containing or consisting of genetically modified organisms; animal feed produced from genetically modified organisms. Article 17 sets the penalty provisions.
