Abstract

This Regulation sets forth the procedures and principles governing the production, certification and marketing of beet seeds. Companies and individuals may carry out such activities as long as they hold a special authorization issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and obtain the registration of seeds. Packaging and labelling requirements are given in Annex 6. Further provisions deal with minimum requirements to be met by imported seeds. Certification is not required for seeds produced for purposes of scientific research or preservation of genetic resources, nor for seeds produced by farmers for their own use.
