Abstract The aim of this Regulation is to fight against African horse sickness. The Regulation sets forth the rules and procedures of precautions to be taken against the disease and the rules of confirmation in case of suspicion. Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 emphasises on precautions and confirmation of the disease under different titles such as, notification of disease, precautions to be taken at suspicious focal points where the disease outbreak, precautions to be taken at facilities around suspicious focal points, precautions to be taken at facilities where existence of a disease is confirmed, determination of disease, epidemiological research and crisis centres. The Regulation further covers provisions on emergency action plan, disinfection, duties and responsibilities of national reference laboratories.
