Abstract This Regulation specifies all polymeric materials and articles which, as final products, are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. Polymeric materials and products are organic macromolecular compounds obtained by polymerization, polycondensation, polyaddition, or any other similar process, from molecules with a lower molar mass or by chemical modification of natural macromolecules. Other substances may be added to such macromolecular compounds. The polymeric materials and articles referred to in the previous paragraph must satisfy the requirements of Annexes I, II, III, IV, IVa, V and VI of Directive 2002/72/EC.
