Abstract The objective of this Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 32 articles and three Annexes, is to avoid adverse effects on the environment and human health and to reduce atmospheric emissions from the use of liquid petroleum fuels. This Regulation establishes: (1) types of liquid fuels to which this Regulation applies; (2) sulfur content in liquid fuels; (3) technical specification of liquid fuel provided under the requirements of environmental protection and human health, expressed as physico-chemical properties of liquid fuels for motor vehicles with internal combustion engines and electric spark ignition; (4) monitoring of physico-chemical properties of liquid fuels; (5) monitoring of the implementation of this Regulation. This Regulation applies to the combustion of liquid fuels in the entire territory of the Republic of Slovenia, including the area of internal waters and territorial sea of the Republic of Slovenia and to areas which are controlled by the Republic of Slovenia, in accordance with the rules of international law.
