This Regulation enters into force on the first day after the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Regulation, in order to prevent the occurrence and to grant the early detection of animal African swine fever virus infection/disease, sets the following measures as regards the territory of the Republic of Croatia: keeping of pigs/swine and the discharge of pigs into open spaces shall be prohibited unless the pigs are kept in a double fence fenced area which is registered as such in the Unified Register of Domestic Animals and has a unique identification number of the holding and other data required pursuant to special regulations and with the approval of the competent veterinarian inspector (the double fence must be placed before discharging the pigs to the open space); all pig/swine holders shall ensure that domestic pigs are kept in a way that is aimed to prevent any direct and indirect contact of domestic pigs with wild animals; all pig/swine keepers must ensure that all pigs are identified by an identification mark in accordance with special regulations and the marking must be carried out at the latest before their release into the open space; quick delivery of the veterinarian's health report; all Croatian based slaughterhouses are obliged to ensure the full implementation of all adopted biosecurity measures, aimed at protection of animal health from contagious and parasitic diseases; it is forbidden to move live wild pigs; all landowners and forest owners are obliged to notify to the competent veterinary inspection any relevant change, unusual fact or behavior, or occurrence (also for the purpose of rapid dispatch of carcasses to the laboratory for further research and analysis).
