Abstract The Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, which is composed of 12 articles and one Annex, lays down detailed veterinary requirements for running animal shelters. The animal shelter should be located at least 150 metres from residential buildings, public utilities, establishments keeping registered animals, enterprises producing products of animal origin, producing animal feed, slaughterhouses, zoological gardens, animal rehabilitation centers, animal harbors. The area of the shelter should be hardened and fenced. Art. 3 specifies types of rooms which should be prepared for each shelter.
