Abstract

This Regulation here specifies the necessary marking rules and related methods of use of various fishing tools with the aim of sustainable use of fish and prevention of damage to individual fishing tools. The master or owner of a fishing vessel that uses active fishing gear must allow the marking of the fishing vessel by allowing the installation of a satellite vessel monitoring system (VMS system) and ensure its use. Every fishing vessel fishing with passive or active fishing gear in an area more than 1.5 nautical miles from the coast must be equipped with a GPS device and a CB station, which must be on channel 4 during fishing.
