Abstract Samples for agricultural quarantine testing and analysis are collected by the inspectors employed at agricultural quarantine units of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Preliminary checks for plants are conducted examining the environment and the packaging. However, if detailed testing is deemed necessary in accordance to the lists in ANNEX 1 and 2 of Agricultural Quarantine Regulation, samples are taken from the parts assumed to be infected. Procedures for sampling from; (i) bulk products; (ii) products packed in sacks; (iii) products packed in cardboard, wood, and plastic cases; (iv) products packed in large cases and crates; (v) fresh fruits and vegetables; (vi) dried vegetables; (vii) production and reproduction materials; (viii) log, trunk, and timbers; and (ix) flowerpots are given separately in details. Collected samples are labeled in accordance to Annex 3 of this regulation and sent to analysis. Those who are found to be free from any disease and are not spoilt are returned to the owner. Spoilt samples are recorded and destroyed. Products which are not spoilt but not wanted by the owner within 15 days are recorded and handed over to charity organizations.
