Abstract

This Regulation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, made under the Animal Diseases Act of 2013, concerns the control of low pathogenic avian influenza in poultry and other captive birds. it sets out measures to be take in case of suspicion of low pathogenic avian influenza and in case this disease has been identified. In case of occurrence of low pathogenic avian influenza, restriction zone may be established by the Food Safety Authority. A special regime of restrictions and prohibitions shall apply to such zone. Measures may include slaughtering of animals, disinfection of means of transport, etc. The Regulation implements Council Directive 2005/94/EC on Community measures for the control of avian influenza and repealing Directive 92/40/EEC.
