In case of occurrence of low pathogenic avian influenza, restriction zone may be established by the Food Safety Authority. A special regime of restrictions and prohibitions shall apply to such zone. Measures may include slaughtering of animals, disinfection of means of transport, etc. The Regulation implements Council Directive 2005/94/EC on Community measures for the control of avian influenza and repealing Directive 92/40/EEC.
