Abstract

The purpose of the present Regulation is to ensure that wildlife and fish in state commons is managed in a way that ensures the conservation of biodiversity. Within this framework, these resources shall develop in a way that safeguards the rights under the Mountain Act, promoting local businesses, and ensuring public access to hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation. The regulation shall also ensure that all hunting, killing, trapping, and fishing in state commons is carried out in a manner that is acceptable to the public. As a general rule, individuals who have been and still are permanent residents in Norway shall have the right to hunt, shoot, trap, and fish in state commons. The Regulation contains 23 articles divided into the following chapters: 1. General provisions; 2. Allocation of fishing, small game hunting and trapping; 3. Allocation of big game hunting; 4. Pricing and price ranges; 5. Reporting and notification of hunting; 6. Final provision.
