Abstract

The purpose of the present Regulation is to ensure that minke whales are killed under proper animal welfare conditions. It applies to minke whale hunting from Norwegian vessels. As a general rule, hunting/catching methods must be used that protect the animals against of unnecessary stress and suffering. The Regulation lays down rules concerning training requirements, prohibited practices, killing method, hunting equipment, etc.
