Abstract The present Regulation lays down rules concerning fish that is captured and kept alive for harvesting purposes. It applies to fishing in marine waters, transport and storage of fish. It does not apply to anadromous salmonids, crustaceans and molluscs. As a general rule, the activities shall be carried out in a way that takes proper consideration for animal welfare. Transport shall also take place in a way that effectively ensures the fish's health and welfare.
