Abstract The present Regulation, adopted by the Norwegian Fisheries Directorate, lays down rules for fishing for Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) in 2023. It establishes a total allowable catch of 383 tonnes for Norwegian vessels with fishing authorization in Norway's territorial waters and economic zone, the fishing area around Jan Mayen, and the protected fishing area around Svalbard. This is allocated as indicated in article 2, between bycatch, tag-and-release fisheries, recreational fishing, and experimental fishing.
