Federal Forest Service has drawn up this Regulation on the basis of the draft elaborated by Research Institute of Mountain Forestry and Forest Ecology in accordance with Pan-Russian Institute of Timber. The Regulation consists of 16 Sections and contains 14 Annexes. Section 1 lays down the general provisions. Section 2 specifies the purposes and the targets of timber extraction for sanitary purposes. Section 3 classifies the types of trees and the methods of cutting. Section 4 specifies types of afforestation for which sanitary timber extraction is ordered. Section 5 establishes subsequency and timing of timber extraction for sanitary purposes according to seasons. Section 6 deals with the standards of timber extraction for sanitary purposes. Section 7 defines the technology of timber extraction for sanitary purposes. Section 8 regards planning and determination of dimension of timber extraction for sanitary purposes. Section 9 deals with allotment of afforestation for timber extraction for sanitary purposes. Section 10 regards land clearing in the cutting area. Section 11 regards timber extraction for different timber species. Section 12 concerns timber extraction in afforestation of different uses. Section 13 regards other kinds of timber extraction. Section 14 deals with inventory of the results of timber extraction. Section 15 regards quality control of timber extraction for sanitary purposes.
