Abstract

The purpose of this Regulation is to preserve a heterogeneous forest area with old coniferous and richer forest types, and which contains endangered, rare and vulnerable species. The natural reserve area of approx. 379 acres has particular value for biodiversity in the form of habitats, ecosystems, plant and animal species and natural ecological processes. The natural reserve has major deposits of old coniferous and touches of richer forest types such as lime forest, tall-herb spruce, alder-cherry woods and boreal zones. Several lime-demanding species are quite prevalent here.
