Abstract

This Regulation, made under the Marine Resources Act and The Svalbard Act of 1925, prohibits Norwegian and foreign vessels to catch snow crabs in the Norwegian territorial sea and inland waters, and on the Norwegian continental shelf. For Norwegian vessels, this prohibition also applies to the continental shelf of other countries. The Fisheries Directorate may grant exemption from this prohibition at certain conditions for vessels that are authorized under Act No. 15 of 1999 relative to the right to participate in fishery and hunting of marine animals (Participation Act) to fish outside territorial waters.
