Abstract

The purpose of this Regulation is to preserve a relatively large forest area of approximatelly 4 610 acres with great variation in forest and habitats and relatively large, contiguous zones of old growth forest, rare in the region. Furthermore, the purpose of Liaberget natural reserve is to ensure protection of biodiversity, habitats, ecosystems, plant and animal species, and natural ecological processes. In Liaberget natural reserve are found brook ravine, scree, rock wall, high yield production spruce and mountain forests. Patches are of large concentrations of dead wood and deposits of rare and vulnerable species of lichens and wood-inhabiting fungi. The objective is to maintain conservation values in the most untouched state, and possibly developing them.
