Abstract The purpose of the natural reserve is to preserve an area of particular importance for biodiversity consisting of ancient forest rich in dead wood and deciduous woodland, rich spruce forest, mixed forest and plain pine forests. The objective of the Regulation is to maintain conservation values in the most untouched state, and possibly developing them. The area extending approximatelly 1 531 acres has particular scientific value due to highly nursed spruce, oak forest and elm-linden forest, as well as a variety of rare and endangered species of wood-inhabiting fungi and lichens.
