Abstract The purpose of this Regulation is to protect Ulbergsåa natural reserve – an area with typical steep, medium and medium-rich stream gorges by Gudbrandsdalen, particular for its waterfall environment and vulnerable and rare flora. The area is probably the creek gully in Gudbrandsdalen with the thickest old spruce, covering most of the gorge. The reserve is very well graded and spans at very large altitude. The Regulation’s objective is to give attention to its biodiversity values in terms of habitats, ecosystems, plant/animal species and natural ecological processes. The natural reserve runs through location / BNR .: 127/1in Sør-Fron municipality. It covers a total area of approx. 785 acres.
