Abstract The purpose of this Regulation is to preserve a forest area with few recent developments and with large acreage of old forest. With its large variation in topography, habitats, species and ecological processes, the area has particular importance for biodiversity. Sandungåsen has lowland forest in boreonemoral zones and rich forest types such as deciduous forests. The potential for development of a rich diversity of forest species is large and the goal for this document is to maintain the conservation values and possibly developing them.
