Abstract

This Regulation aims at safeguarding the supervision and control of requirements, criteria and conditions regarding animal welfare, animal protection, animal health and breeding in relation with the importation and exportation of living animals, breeding material and animal waste inside of the EEA area, and import of living animals from third countries. The Regulation shall also apply to fish. The Regulation requires producers to be registered either with the Agricultural Register or the Aquaculture Concession Register of the Directorate of Fisheries. The Regulation defines general requirements of importation and exportation and provides for border control.
