Abstract It is not permitted to Norwegian vessels to fish and land horse mackerel in 2014, however it is permitted if they fish or land a total of 47 520 tonnes of horse mackerel in the territorial waters and economic zone, fishery zone around Jan Mayen, the fishery protection zone around Svalbard and in international waters. Bycatch of other species is allowed up to 10% of the total catch of mackerel while transfer of catch bewteeen one or more vessels is not permitted.
