The Regulation sets minimum standards for these purposes. It contains 21 articles divided into the following Chapters: I. Purpose and scope; II. Inspection and monitoring; III. Treatment and care; IV. Facilities; and V. Other provisions. The Regulation contains detailed rules on exercise, rest and other needs of swines; feeding; reproduction; health; slaughtering; infection control; etc. The Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority shall be supervise the implementation of this Regulation.
