The text of the Regulation is divided into four Chapters, Additional, Transitional and Final Provisions and five Annexes. The Chapters deal with the following: general requirements (1); classification of water and establishment of standards for surface water used for household and drinking purposes (2); definition pfmonitoring and control requirements (3); information and reporting (4). All definitions are given in the additional provisions. Schedule I contains the requirements for surface water used for abstraction of drinking water. Schedule II specifies standard methods for the treatment of surface waters under categories A1, A2 and A3. Schedule III prescribes the minimal annual frequency of sampling and testing according to the requirements set out in Schedule I. Schedule IV gives the comparative methods for measuring compulsory and recommended standards and Schedule V defines the groups of control standards.
