Abstract

The purpose of this Regulation is to ensure the protection of the arctic fjord and valley as well as the habitats, ecosystems, species, ecological processes, and cultural heritage area of Svalbard. The protection of habitat includes: wetlands as breeding, food and moulting areas for birds (including geese, shorebirds and seabirds); well developed geological formations and depostis.
