Abstract

The Regulation applies to the classification, labeling, packaging of dangerous chemicals being imported, manufactured and / or sold in Norway. It sets rules with regard to petroleum activities and safety thereof. The Regulation does NOT include nor applies to radioactive substances, plant protection and fertilizing products. These regulations do not apply to chemicals in transit which are under the supervision of the customs authorities, provided they are not subject to any treatment or processing. Hazardous chemicals should be classified on the basis of the knowledge that is needed to determine the health, fire, explosion and environmental hazards associated with the substance or mixture thereof. Fees for declaration of substances and their mixture is equivalent to NOK 820 and NOK 135 for substances and mixes. The fee shall however not exceed NOK 110 000 on a yearly turnover of import and/or manufacturing. Criteria for testing and choise of safety procedures shall adhere to REACH EU Regulation.
