Abstract

This Regulation sets forth the procedures and principles regarding the supervision of companies and individuals involved in the production, processing, distribution and marketing of seeds. Seed producers must obtain a special authorization, which is valid only within the boundaries of the province where production is carried out. Certificates and authorizations are issued by the provincial offices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and are valid for a period of five years. Further provisions deal with supervision and inspection, which is carried out by official authorities every five years. Renewal of authorization is based upon the results of such inspection.
