Abstract The Regulation applies to commercial combustion of solid and liquid waste produced by incinerators and treatment of waste water from the deriving gases (thermal treatment of waste) and other hazardous substances from pyrolysis, gasification or plasma processes for energy production. In order to avoid damages and pollution, operational supervision of these incinerators shall be enforced. Incineration plant operators shall submit request for waste disposal thereof, and shall take the necessary measures and methods to ensure prevention and reduction of air, soil, surface and groundwater pollution, as well as other damaging repercussions on the environment, such as accidental discharge of substances, spills or fire. Emission control shall be in adherence to the European standardization body CEN and the International Organization for Standardization ISO.
