As a general rule, the following undertakings and establishments shall be subject to the issue of an authorization: (a) public natural mounting; (b) artificial insemination of equines; (c) semen production centres; (d) collection of embryos; (e) embryo production centres. However, the authorization shall not be required in respect of private natural mounting of the bovine, swine, ovine and caprine species. The Regulation consists of ten Titles. Titles II to VII lay down the requirements to be met by artificial insemination installations as regards the equine species, and sets out conditions governing artificial insemination, embryo collection and production. Title VIII regards certification of fertilizing interventions and embryo installations. Title IX provides for inspection and checks.
