Abstract This Regional Legislative Decree is composed of eight Chapters divided in 27 articles. It defines the legal regime applicable to waste management in Azores thus implementing EC Directives No. 2006/12/EC of 5 April 2006 and EC Directive No. 91/689/EEC of 12 December 1991. The Decree defines waste management principles and regulates waste management planning activities. Moreover, it rules on licensing and concession procedures as well as on the economic aspects of waste management.
