Abstract

Nature monument of regional significance “Chumaysky Bukhtai” is unique, irreplaceable, valuable in ecological, scientific, cultural and aesthetic aspects of the natural landscape complex. The territory occupied by natural monument is declared protected natural area of regional significance without the expropriation of land plots from land tenants, land owners and possessors of land. The main priorities of the natural monument are: (a) particularly valuable paleontological object; and (b) place of growth and habit of valuable, relict, few rare and endangered species of plants and animals. The tasks of the natural monument are: (a) maintaining the integrity of existing ecosystems; (b) preservation, reproduction and restoration of objects of flora and fauna, including those listed in the national and regional Red Books; (c) preservation of the natural landscape of the territory of the natural monument; (d) ecological education, and provision of the population environmental information; and (e) promotion of nature protection. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of nature monument: (a) destruction and damaging of notices and other information signs; (b) movement and parking of motor vehicles; (c) destruction or unauthorized felling of trees and shrubs; (d) burning of vegetation; (e) harvesting of plants; (f) haymaking and grazing of farm animals; (g) application of chemicals and fertilizers; (h) soil pollution; (i) any type of construction; and (j) making fires.
